Introduction To Foot Ball
Association football, more generally known as just football or soccer, is an organized team sport typically played between two teams of eleven players each. It is played by about 250 million people in more than 200 countries and dependencies worldwide, making it the most popular sport in the world. This game is one of the best ways to pass time and it can be enjoyed by individuals of all ages. It is also considered a great social activity, especially for children. It has also been shown that participation in soccer can reduce the risk of heart disease and help prevent strokes.
To play the game, both teams stand approximately twelve yards apart with three points being given for every yard that is crossed by the players. Each team tries to score more points than the other team; however, it is not uncommon for one team to score more points than the other during a game. In addition, each team has a designated player who attempts to kick the ball using their feet. The sport is referred to as “foot ball” because the foot of the player is used to kick the ball. The sport can be played in indoor arenas or outdoor fields.
The game is divided into two different types, namely, “open field” and “friendly”. In open field games, the object is for one team to score more goals than the other team within a set amount of time, such as fifteen minutes. Friendly matches are often played within a single facility with regulation size fields.
Foot Ball can be viewed by many as merely a game, with little actual skill required except for kicking it. On the other hand, soccer requires great control of the ball and accurate kicking skills. Both require agility, speed, and strength. Although the sport is often viewed as a purely physical game, soccer requires great mental acuity. A great player will be able to see plays unfold before them, and will know when to initiate offensive moves.
As noted earlier, soccer has become one of the most popular sports in the world, second only to American football. For this reason, the sport has made great strides in growing its fan base, as well as its development of professional leagues. Currently, there are about twelve different recognized soccer leagues in the United States, and counting numerous regional and independent leagues.
The sport has come a long way since its humble roots, from being known as just “foot ball” to becoming one of the most recognized and played sports in the country. With the tremendous advancements in technology, the sport can be enjoyed by individuals of all ages and skill levels. This allows the game to be played competitively by men, women, and children of all ages, anywhere in the world. For this reason, the game is truly universal.
